According to official sources, the purpose behind this plan is that a passenger can order online for any item while traveling in a metro train. With the help of Metro's online platform, that passenger can also take delivery of his goods at any metro station.

A top official source said, “We have started working on the plan and consultancy firm McKinsey has been entrusted with helping experts. Delhi Metro recently revamped its website and mobile app, which gives commuters more convenience in using metro services.

Sources say that the Delhi Metro is busy upgrading the digital platform to make e-commerce services easier in the train. Delhi Metro chief Mangu Singh had also said that DMRC is preparing to provide e-commerce services to passengers. It can be started on a large scale in the next 2-3 years. Sources say that metro passengers will be able to take advantage of e-commerce services through the digital platform of DMRC.

For this, a digital locker will also be arranged at the metro station, in which it can be opened through OTP in mobile. DMRC has said that its website is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, which is also compatible with the interactive metro digital platform. Users of Delhi Metro's app also get alerts of the next station. One can also take real time information of his destination through this. If there is any technical fault in any route, then the passenger also gets its alert.
